Our Story

Andrew and Charizma grew up on opposite sides of the world. Wisconsin and India are about as far apart as two places could possibly be. Yet in the fall of 2021, they both found themselves far from home, meeting for the first time over gelato and pizza in a strange new land called Austin, Texas. At first, they were content to meet up on weekends and holidays to discover tiny slices of their new city. They visited strange backyard museums and uncovered hidden speakeasies. They danced the honky-tonk in Western dance halls and feasted in exciting fusion eateries. Before long, they were exploring farther afield, delving deep into caverns and embarking on drive-thru safaris. In time, they realized that what made these adventures special was that they were sharing these moments with each other. Every day could be an adventure as long as they were together. Beyond a shared sense of humor and fun, they found in each other a companion with shared values and a shared vision of life, love, and family. In the summer of 2025, a question was asked and the answer confirmed what they both already knew - they would spend the rest of their lives continuing to discover new things, about the world and about who they would become together. Now, Andrew and Charizma want to share their love with all the people who love them. They invite you to the no-longer-strange land of Austin, Texas. The great adventure they are about to embark on will be made all the more special when its moments are shared with you.

This is the local airport to book your flight to. It is about 11 miles from Saturday's wedding venue and about 13 miles from Sunday's wedding venue.

The city of Buda is also somewhat near the venue, but it is further from the central/downtown Austin area.-If you are wanting to be near the downtown area, search within Central Austin.-If you are wanting to be near the more outdoorsy areas, search within West Austin and "Hill Country."-Avoid going too far north like Pflugerville or Round Rock.-Avoid going too far south like Kyle and San Marcos.

What should I wear?

1. Dress up! Accessories and glam are encouraged!2. Although not required, feel free to explore traditional Indian attire such as lehengas, anarkali suits, salwar kameez, and sarees (feminine) or kurtas and nehru jackets (masculine).

Vivah Sanskar

This is the traditional Hindu wedding ceremony that formally unites the couple through symbolic rituals, prayers, and blessings.

What should I expect?

1. The ceremony begins with the baraat which is the formal entrance of the groom and his family. This is lively and involves dancing and live music.2. After the baraat and welcoming rituals, the bride enters and joins the groom at the mandap (altar).3. The agni (sacred fire) is lit, and the priest chants mantras to guide the couple through ceremonial rituals.4. The couple commences the 'pheras'- seven symbolic revolutions around the fire, representing their promises for married life.5. The ceremony takes about 1 hour.

What should I do?

1. If you are from the groom's side, please accompany the ‘baraat’ and expect to be warmly welcomed by the bride’s family. This is a lively procession that involves dancing and live music.2. If you are from the bride’s side, please proceed directly to the venue and stand with her family to welcome the baraat. 3. Kindly listen for cues to stand or be seated during the ceremony.

Sangeet

The Sangeet is the celebration following the ceremony that includes food, drinks, and lots of dancing.

1. Lots of dancing! Some family and friends will perform lively, choreographed dances.2. There are not many, if any, scheduled formalities. The event is all about fun and celebration!

What Should I wear?

Feel free to wear Indian or American formal attire. American formal attire includes suits and long dresses.

Ceremony

The formal portion of an American wedding that celebrates the union of two people, signifying their love, commitment, and the beginning of a shared life.

What Should I Expect?

1. The ceremony begins with a processional, where the families and the couple enter.2. The officiant welcomes guests and leads the ceremony.3. The couple says their vows, including personal, self-written notes to each other.4. The couple exchanges rings as symbols of their endless commitment and eternal love.5. The officiant formally pronounces the couple married, followed by the first kiss and recessional exit.6. The ceremony takes about 20-30 minutes.

What Should I Do?

1. Please arrive about 15 minutes early and take your seats.2. Kindly stand when the bride begins to walk down the aisle, and sit when the officiant begins speaking.3. Feel free to clap and cheer at the end of the ceremony when the couple does their first kiss!4. Please stand once more when the couple walks down the aisle together.

Reception

The reception is the celebration that follows the ceremony and includes food, drinks, and dancing.

1. There will be a short transition period after the ceremony (cocktail hour), with time for the guests to mingle and take photos with the newlyweds. Small bites and drinks will be available at this time.2. After cocktail hour, guests will be welcomed to the reception space for dinner and dancing.3. The couple will share their ‘first dance’ together, followed by dances with their parents.4. Dinner will be served after the dances.5. Family and friends will give speeches towards the end of dinner.6. The newlyweds will cut the cake after dinner.7. After the formal dances and speeches, the dance floor will open for celebration for the rest of the evening.
